Paulownia Leaf large cream
Can be used as a trivet for hot pots, for serving food, a candle stand or wall hanging.
These amazing Paulownia trees grow in St. Peters Square. In Spring you may have seen the beautiful purple flowers, which gives rise to the other name they are known by, the Foxglove Tree. Last Autumn I came across their fallen leaves and couldn't believe the size of them! I just had to collect some and make some clay impressions. Clay and glazing can be unpredictable so the success rate of my first attempt wasn't very high! There were only a handful of pieces which turned out as expected.
This is one of the slightly damaged ones, the centre split slightly during firing. The crack is not seen from the top and has been sealed with epoxy putty on the base (shown on pics). It may be slightly damaged but is still beautiful and completely functional. Price reflects the damage
Made from buff clay with cream glaze, giving a speckled finish
